Mr. Kojo Bonsu, Ghana’s Ambassador to China says there is the need for a paradigm shift in the bilateral relations between Ghana and China for their mutual benefit.

He underscored the long-standing diplomatic relations between Ghana and China over the last 65 years; noting the need to shift gear to focus on Business, education, Agriculture and Technology.

Mr. Bonsu, told the Ghana News Agency at the Embassy in China during a visit by the three GNA staff on learning assignment that: “Our relations must lead to the betterment of our people and create a win- win situation for the two countries”.

He noted that his main stay would be to promote Technology and Agriculture particularly for the youth to ensure that the Ghanaian youth was not left out in this five “G” era but become more and more innovative in finding answers to Ghana’s industrialization and development quest.

“I believe there is a lot for the younger Ghanaian to learn in helping build a better Ghana from China”.

The Ghana Ambassador to China admired how food was also available and at a cheaper cost adding, “we must begin to encourage more agricultural practices and productivity to ensure that food also becomes cheaper in Ghana”.

He hinted that President John Dramani Mahama may visit China in no time as a testament to Ghana’s quest to strengthen the bilateral cooperation and other sustainable means of deepening the Ghana-China Relations.

Mr. Kojo Bonsu is a Ghanaian businessman, sports administrator, and politician who notably served as the Metropolitan Chief Executive (Mayor) of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly from 2013 to 2016.

His ambassadorial appointment to China marks his latest role in public service.
