Accra, Ghana – March 19, 2024: Agritech West Africa 2024 exhibition kicks off, hosting over 100 international companies from India, Europe etc. These companies are showcasing the latest advancements in agricultural, food and beverage processing, and packaging technologies during the event from March 19 to 21, 2024.

In his opening address, Mr. Yaw Frimpong Addo, the Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture in charge of crops, emphasized the vital role of exhibitions like Agritech West Africa in aligning with the government’s vision to enhance commercial agriculture through initiatives like the Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) program.

The Minister underscored the importance of processing facilities in incentivizing farmers and driving agricultural growth in the nation. “We want to ensure food security as a country; hence, the need for farmers and industry players to leverage the latest technologies in sustainable agricultural practices,” he added.

Speaking at the event, the Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E Mr. Manish Gupta, highlighted India’s commitment, and role in promoting agriculture and the willingness of Indian companies to invest in Ghana.

He emphasized Ghana’s potential to achieve food self-sufficiency by embracing global technologies to boost the agricultural sector.

As the three-day exhibition unfolds, exhibitors look forward to fruitful partnerships and groundbreaking deals that will propel local agribusinesses to new heights. Organized by Wegvoraus under the auspices of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Trade and Industry Ministries, and the Government of India, over 5000 visitors are expected to participate in Agritech West Africa in Accra from March 19-21, 2024.
