Madam Esther Adutwumwaa who was previously working as an Operations Manager in a corporate institution for more than 7 years is currently a full time entrepreneur. The CEO of Ezicuk, a grocery delivery service company. She purchases fresh produce from farmers, groceries and other foodstuffs and supplies to busy career women who hardly make time to go to the market.
She tells agrighanaonline.com that her quest to go into grocery delivery services was borne out of her personal experiences. “I was a busy career woman myself and know how complicated life is especially if you’re a nursing mother, wife and a career woman. A help to ship groceries just the way I want it and delivered to my doorsteps was I service I needed. When I finally couldn’t cope with motherhood and career I quit my job to provide this service to fellow career people in need of this service” she stressed.
Though she is enjoying her business and making good money, madam Esther says she does stock audit work (side hustle) on Saturdays to help generate additional revenue. ” I try not to fix deliveries and orders on Saturdays so that I can have much time for the effective running of the Saturday business.” She added.
One of the major challenge in her business is the insufficient supplies of most groceries in certain seasons. Most of the groceries she supplies are seasonal products. “Some vegetables are not available in certain seasons to meet the demands of my customers. I also need more hands to help me but do not have the capacity to employ more workers now.” She added.
Despite all these, she tries to manage her stressful moments “I try to pause and unwind when possible. I have my family support through difficult moments and also encourage myself by my goals and mentors.”
Mrs. Adutwumwaa aspires to be a Coach for upcoming entrepreneurs and other young folks who want to start their own business. She stressed that having your own business can be stressful but more fulfilling if you are passionate about it.
A piece of advice from her to the Young ones out there.
“I advise them to avail themselves to mentorship on any business idea they have before commencing. They should read books related to it and if possible try to understudy a similar business by offering to volunteer in those businesses just to learn on the job. They shouldn’t give up on their dreams. When they get an idea they should do more research on the and segment well to avoid shocks and failures in startup”.
